This is a secure credit card, with only a $300 limit. I have two other credit cards that I use a lot more often and I’ve been very responsible about paying bills on time.

I’ve owned it since 2003 and it doesn’t apear on my credit report. I’ve contacted the three credit agencies and they said it was up to the loan servicing corp. or the lender to report it. Neither the loan servicing corporation or lender will report it. I’ve made all payments on time and don’t get any credit for it but if I were to miss payments I bet they would report it asap.

How long does a collection stay on a persons credit report?

My fiance and I got in a little disagreement a little while ago about how long collections stay on a credit report.

He says that after 7 years they will be removed from a persons credit report - whether they are paid or not.

I disagree with that. Why would collection agencies just “give up” trying to collect money from a person and take it off a persons credit report. It doesn’t make sense to me. If collection agencies just stopped trying to collect from a person after 7 years wouldn’t a lot of people not pay their bills because it will just go away after 7 years?

Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks!

How long does the negative information stay in your credit report after it has been paid?

I have a negative account on my credit report that is affecting me in a negative way. This was reported way back in 2001 and I paid the account in full in 2002 but the bank continued to report that it was unpaid till I recently disputed with them. They finally changed it from unpaid to paid after a charge off. I really want this information removed from my credit report since its so old. I have asked the credit buraus to remove this three times but they have not done it. What are my options at this point? Please tell me what I need to do to get this peace of information removed from my credit report. Thanks

How do I remedy a Credit Report debt supposed to have been assigned to my X Husband?

My X-Husband and I got a divorce, with it papers that stated as a contract that he would be taking two debts he incurred while we were married but these debts still show up on my credit report. Is there any way to stop these debts from being reflected on my credit as it was agreed via the divorce they were his responsibility?
